To turn a Vimeo video into text, send the video file to the Potok bot on Telegram. Vimeo videos can be transcribed from a file if the owner allows downloads, so check that setting first. Files up to 2 GB work, and you can export TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT or VTT.

Key facts
- The download permission belongs to the owner, so a video without it cannot be saved.
- Vimeo is often used for films, portfolios and training videos, which usually contain careful audio.
- A link to a Vimeo page gives the bot nothing to read, since it works with files and YouTube links.
- Captions made from the transcript can be uploaded back as SRT or VTT.
How to do it
- Check the download setting. If the video is yours, look at its settings. If not, ask the owner whether they allow downloads.
- Download the file. Use the download option on the video page, if the owner has enabled it.
- Estimate the size. A long film file can be large. The audio file size calculator helps with the audio part.
- Send the video. Open @potok_now_bot in Telegram and attach it as a document.
- Create captions. Export SRT or VTT and check timing against the picture before you use it.

Frequently asked questions
When can I transcribe a Vimeo video?
When you have it as a file, which depends on the owner allowing downloads.

No. The bot takes files and YouTube links, not Vimeo links.
How large can the file be?
Up to 2 GB, with the Upload button for large files.
Can I add the result as subtitles?
Yes. Export SRT or VTT and load the file as captions.
Does the text carry the on-screen titles?
