To turn a phone call recording into text, send the audio file to the Potok bot on Telegram. Recording a call may need consent from the other person under local law, so check before you record. Call recording apps save M4A, AMR or WAV, files up to 2 GB work, and the transcript exports as TXT or DOCX.

Key facts
- Consent comes first: the law on recording a call differs by place, and the other person may need to agree.
- Call recorders usually write small files, so even an hour-long call stays far below the size limit.
- Some apps capture only your side clearly, so the other voice may be faint.
- A two-person call usually shows up with Speaker 1 and Speaker 2 when labels are on.
How to do it
- Check consent. Before you record, find out what your local law says and tell the other person. Skip a call you cannot lawfully use.
- Find the file. Open the call recording app and locate the saved audio. Menu names differ between apps.
- Listen for a few seconds. Make sure both sides are audible. If only one side was captured, the text will only hold that side.
- Send it to the bot. Open @potok_now_bot in Telegram and attach the file, then switch on labels and timestamps.
- Keep the record. Export DOCX or PDF and store it with the original audio.
What the result looks like
[00:00] Speaker 1: Hello, I am calling to confirm the dentist appointment.
[00:05] Speaker 2: Yes, it is booked for Tuesday at half past ten.
[00:10] Speaker 1: Thank you, I will arrive early.

Common mistakes
| Mistake | What happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Recording a call without telling the other person | It may be unlawful and breaks trust. | Check local rules and ask first. |
| Trusting digits from phone audio | Numbers like fifteen and fifty blur on narrow audio. | Replay each figure before you quote it. |
| Assuming the other side was recorded | Some apps record only the microphone. | Test with a short call. |
| Storing only the text | A dispute needs the original sound. | Keep the audio next to the transcript. |

Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to record a call?
It depends on local law, and consent from the other person may be needed. Check the rules for your place.
Which file types do call recorders use?
Call recording apps save audio in formats such as M4A, AMR or WAV.
Why is the other voice so quiet?
Some apps capture the microphone better than the earpiece. Test an app before you rely on it.
Can the bot separate the two callers?
Speaker labels can be switched on and use numbers, not names.
Is there a length limit?
Files up to 2 GB are supported. A call is far below that.
