To turn a Discord voice message into text, get the clip as an audio file and send it to the Potok bot on Telegram. Discord voice messages are short audio clips posted in a channel or a direct message. The official help explains downloads. Files up to 2 GB work, and you can export TXT, DOCX or SRT.

Key facts
- The bot lives in Telegram, so a Discord clip has to leave Discord as a file first.
- Clips in a public channel belong to their authors, and the person in a direct message expects privacy.
- Voice clips are short, so the transcript usually fits in a single chat message.
- If the app gives no way to save a clip, ask the sender to send you the audio another way.
How to do it
- Decide whether you may use it. Ask the speaker if the clip is from a private chat or a small group. Skip anything you have no right to share.
- Get the file. Look in the official Discord help for how to download a voice message. The path depends on your device and the app version.
- Move it to Telegram. Send the saved file to @potok_now_bot as an audio file or a document.
- Wait for the text. A short clip returns as a message. If you sent many clips, you get one result per file.
- Copy or export. Copy the text from the chat, or export TXT, MD, DOCX, PDF, SRT or VTT if you want a file.
What the result looks like
[00:00] Speaker 1: We start at eight, bring the new map.
[00:04] Speaker 1: Tell Sam that the server password changed.
[00:08] Speaker 1: I will be a few minutes late.

Common mistakes
| Mistake | What happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Forwarding a private clip without asking | The speaker did not agree to see their voice sent to a third party. | Ask first, or transcribe only your own clips. |
| Expecting a Discord link to work | The bot reads files, so a link to a Discord message gives it nothing to transcribe. | Save the audio and send the file. |
| Merging many clips into one without order | Context from a conversation breaks when clips are shuffled. | Number the files by time before you send them. |
| Reading names as exact | Short clips with slang and usernames confuse recognition. | Replay the clip and fix names by hand. |

Frequently asked questions
Can I send a Discord link to the bot?
No. Send an audio file. Save the voice message first by the steps in the official Discord help.
How long are Discord voice messages?
They are short audio clips, so the transcript is short and returns in the chat.
Is it safe to share a friend's clip?
Only with their agreement. A voice is personal data, so ask before you send it.
Will the text show who spoke?
With labels on, it shows Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on. It never shows account names.
What if I cannot download the clip?
Ask the sender to share the audio as a file, or send it in another app where saving works.
