To transcribe a Windows Sound Recorder file, share the recording from the app and send it to the Potok bot on Telegram, which takes audio up to 2 GB. Microsoft says the app records up to three hours into one file, so a whole meeting or lecture usually becomes a single file to send.

Key facts
- A session longer than the file limit needs several recordings, sent one after another and joined by hand.
- Recordings are kept inside the app and disappear if the app is uninstalled, so share or export a copy.
- The Share button opens the list of apps installed on the computer.
- The bot reads the file format itself, so no conversion is needed.
How to do it
- Record or open the file. Start the Sound Recorder app, record, and open the finished recording in the list.
- Share a copy. Use the Share button and pick an app, or save the recording to a folder you can reach.
- Send it to the bot. Open @potok_now_bot in Telegram, attach the file, and wait for the text.
- Turn on speaker labels if needed. With two voices, labels mark the replies with numbers and times.
- Check the result. Find names and figures by timestamps and listen to them once more.
What the result looks like
[00:00] Speaker 1: The meeting starts. First point, the schedule for next week.
[00:10] Speaker 2: I can take the Tuesday session if the room is free.
[00:22] Speaker 1: The room is free. Please confirm in the chat.
[00:35] Speaker 2: Confirmed, I will write it down now.

Common mistakes
| Mistake | What happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Uninstalling or resetting the app first | Recordings are stored inside it and disappear with it. | Share a copy before any cleanup. |
| Recording a meeting through laptop speakers only | The far voices come out quiet and muddy. | Use a microphone close to the speakers. |
| Ignoring the time limit | A session longer than the file limit splits into parts. | Check the length and send the parts one after another. |
| Treating labels as names | Speaker 1 is a number, not a person. | Add real names by hand. |
